Buckinghamshire New University is asking furniture manufacturers to complete a short survey to assist with one of its European projects, entitled Wood2Good.
The wood sector in Europe has close to 3 million workers and 380,000 enterprises generating an annual turnover of 300 billion euro. Since this sector is mainly made of SMEs, it plays an essential role in meeting EU2020 objectives. However, it is currently affected by a recession in the construction sector, a key market for wood products. It faces new challenges and opportunities, to implement innovative solutions in climate change and revive its position as a competitive sector.
In this context, the main objective of the project Wood2Good is to analyse the current situation of restructuring in the sector and establish recommendations to ensure a responsible change of wood based SMEs oriented toward the Green Economy. One of the methods of data collection is through this short survey.
