Four companies with products which stand out as truly ergonomic were presented with a much-coveted industry award at an event held by FIRA, the UK’s leading furniture technology centre, at the House of Lords last Friday (12th September).
The FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award was presented to BMA Ergonomics for its Axia 2.0 Smart Seating System, Colebrook Bosson & Saunders for its Flo Monitor Arm, Ergonomic Café for its Agile Laptop Stand and SBFI for its Aspect Dealer Desking.
Representatives from the award winning companies attended the annual event, hosted by Lord Hoyle of Warrington, to accept their awards.
Levent Çaglar, Head of Ergonomics for FIRA, said: “I am really pleased to present the FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award to this range of office products which have all met a high level of assessment. In order to receive the Award, stringent ergonomic criteria, safety, user-friendliness and the comfort and wellbeing of the user are considered, as well as whether the product is fit for purpose both structurally and ergonomically.
“The benefits of ergonomics for workforce health, morale, turnover, attendance and productivity are becoming increasingly clear. Congratulations to BMA Ergonomics, Colebrook Bosson & Saunders, Ergonomic Café and SBFI for these ergonomically excellent designs.”
Also achieving FIRA’s Ergonomics Excellence Awards for their products, but unable to attend the event, were Bakker Elkhuizen for its UltraStand laptop holder, Fellowes with its Banker Box, Humanscale with its Diffrient World Chair, Kusch+Co with its São Paulo Chair and Scandinavian Business Seating with its Logic 300/400 chairs.
The FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award identifies genuine ergonomic excellence in both domestic and workplace furniture products by clearly distinguishing those that are outstanding from other products in the marketplace.
