The very successful “Terre di Cielo” colour and surface line inspired a new way of conceiving of the role of colour applied to ceramic design pieces. Cielo is now introducing eight exclusive new finishes — Flax, Oat, Concrete, Mud, Slate, Hemp, Cipria, and Polvere — joining the existing selection, now including 16 sophisticated hues.
The fruit of Cielo’s complex, in-depth research, “Terre di Cielo – Second Edition 2013–2016” is inimitable and unlike any in the world. Cielo was first in the industry to study and experiment with the colours of the earth and plant and mineral elements, seeking to understand their essence, their relationship with nature and role in architecture, and the company was inspired to introduce these new colours in bathroom spaces.
Nature also inspired the relationship between the colour and texture of each finish, through an innate connection with the material and the strong value of the traditional relationship between ceramic and glazes. Using an exacting scientific process, the traditional chemical composition of glazes was adapted into the extensive “Terre di Cielo” line, conceived to give interior designers and architects a practical new work tool. The goal is to give voice to the clients’ expressive freedom by offering them complete customisation, letting them choose the colors to apply to any of the ceramic products of Cielo’s main collections, or create their own colour for especially important projects.
This line is unlike any on the market, joining Cielo’s sophisticated designs to create bathroom furnishing that offers exclusive sensory experiences springing from the concept of total quality. All products are made with “Terre di Cielo” finishes are checked and finished entirely by hand by expert craftspeople. The colors are tested to withstand immersion in acid for 48 hours, ensuring that the ceramic is impregnable.
