Charltons FurnitureFor the first time Charltons Furniture will be exhibiting at the Manchester Furniture Show which is scheduled from July 13- 16, 2014. Charltons will be exhibiting in the main foyer at the Show.

With a strong family history dating back to 1903 the Radstock based company is now on the 5th generation of Charltons with 3 generations very active in the business. Their furniture is designed with everyday living in mind and with quality as the standard.

Ross Charlton, Head of Product & Design at Charltons Furniture said, “This is our first time in Manchester. The city has always had a great buzz and we were impressed by both the venue and the reputation the show brings with it. Amongst the products that we will be exhibiting are 8 new collections bringing new designs and fresh ideas to the market. We cannot wait for the opening day on the 13th July.”

The company has always been in the timber business, it began by hauling timber from the woodlands to the local coal mines, which then naturally progressed into sawmilling timber for other customer’s requirements.

Sawmilling has always been at the heart of A.J.Charltons & Sons, sawing mainly hardwoods allowed to supplying some of the top UK furniture manufacturers, from the likes of Ercol, Airsprung, Silent night and the Christie Tyler group. It is from this that hardwood timber side grew and expanded into producing their own furniture and flooring which was sold through our local retail store.
