cassinaEarlier this month from March 9 to 12, Cassina participated at Design shaghai for the first time. Over the past two years, the brand has strengthened their presence in China with two mono-brand stores respectively in Beijing and Shanghai.

The fair stand was designed by Patricia Urquiola and inspired by the Rietveld Pavilion, a temporary structure constructed in Holland in 1955, an inviting home environment had been recreated. The pieces on show included the 2015 Collection (the Scighera sofa by Piero Lissoni, the Cab Lounge armchair by Mario Bellini, the Lady armchair by Marco Zanuso, the Réaction Poétique accessory collection by Jaime Hayon) mixed together with Cassina classics (the MyWorld sofa by Philippe Starck, the Veliero and Infinito bookshelves by Franco Albini, the LC4 chaise-longue by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret, Perriand), and a preview of four products from the just-launched MutAzioni project (the Wink chaise-longue, the Doge table, the Utrecht armchair and Black Red and Blue chair).

Patricia Urquiola was present on the Cassina stand to host a design talk. She also participates at the AD Forum and was the guest of honour at a private event in collaboration with Kvadrat where Cassina pieces were previewed with Kvadrat/Raf Simons fabrics.
