It is now known for its innovative courses – so the Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design course fits perfectly into the remit.

Alison Shreeve of Bucks New University said that delegates from the kitchen industry at the meeting in Milton Keynes were all extremely enthusiastic about the idea and agreed it was an important step forwards for an industry that has made huge strides in quality and design diversity for what is now arguably the most used and important living area of a modern home.

“I am delighted to say that we have had a very positive response from the members of the industry present today and were thrilled by their commitment to education in the kitchen industry sector. We were able to discuss the course structure and content and to describe the aims of the course, which included the professionalisation of the kitchen industry through enhanced design awareness in the workforce. The openness and enthusiasm of those present was very welcome and we look forward to starting our first group of students in September and to developing close relationships with the industry in order to develop the course in the future.”
