The Almora Armchair, designed by Doshi Levien, has been awarded the prestigious wallpaper design awards 2015 in the Best Executive Office Category. An important prize which recognizes the potential of Almora as best relaxation armchair for executive offices, even though it was created for domestic use.
Almora is a project with a strong identity that combines sculpted design and comfort. A generously sized relaxation armchair with coordinated footrests, that takes a center stage in any area and evokes symbolic meanings associated with welcoming, the nest, the womb and hospitality. In the words of its designers, Almora aspires to be, “a haven from the world, a place for contemplating and reading, from where one can admire magnificent snow-capped peaks. As protective as a second skin, enveloping like a soft blanket”, yet it is also a 360 degree revolving armchair that interacts with the surrounding ambience.
The Wallpaper Design Awards is the annual prize that wallpaper, International leading magazine in the fields of Architecture, Design, Fashion, Lifestyle and Travel, gives to people, places, products and projects which have distinguished themselves during the previous year and set the trends in the world.
