100% Design World-Class Talks Programme Announced

100_logo1 copyThe world-class talks programme at 100% Design is free to attend for all registered visitors to the show, on a first come first serve basis. See some of the highlights in store for all 100% Design visitors – full programme announced shortly.

 

 

The only ticketed event is the Barber Osgerby session on Saturday 20 September at 10:00. As part of the Design Museum’s DM25 talks series celebrating the museum’s 25th Birthday, Internationally renowned designers Ed Barber and Jay Osgerby will discuss their career rise which took off at 100% Design in 1996.

 

Czech designer Maxim Velcovsky has worked with the likes of Lasvit and will be discussing his inspirations with Disegno editor-in-chief Johanna Agermann Ross.

 

Examining the role of chance in the process of making, Studio Glithero will look at capturing the beauty of the moment things are made. Rosario Hurtado of El Ultimo Grito and designer Eric Klarenbeek will feature in this intriguing conversation.

 

Jaime Hayon in conversation with Christopher Turner, editor of Icon magazine will discuss his inspiration through a series of images, touching upon the talks programme’s overall theme of serendipity.

 

This talk will explore the future of retail with Chloe Macintosh, creative director of made.com, Oliver White, e-commerce director of Heal’s and Ross Phillipps from Dalziel & Pow who create shops for some of the world’s biggest brands.

 

After opening this year’s show international creator Philippe Starck will kick off Talks with 100% Design in conversation with Wallpaper editor-in-chief Tony Chambers. Philippe Starck.
Roosegarde has designed glow-in the dark trees as replacements for streetlamps using bio-luminscent qualities of jellyfish. He will take part in this session on biology and design.

 

 

Dan Hopwood, President of the British Institute of Interior Design and design expert on TV’s Great Interior Design Challenge speaks to the winner and runner up of the first series, Sarah Moore and Jordan Cluroe, about the transition from amateur to professional.

 

Curated and hosted by Pecha Kucha founder, architect Mark Dytham, this anniversary event celebrates 20 years of 100% Design by inviting key figures from the show’s past to present 20 slides in 20 seconds each on the theme of ‘20’. Speakers include Jaime Anley, Nick Crosbie, Gareth Williams, Russell Pinch, Dick Powell, Luke Pearson, Ross Lovegrove, and Nina Tolstrup.
