FIRA SERVICE TECHNICIANS WAREHOUSE INSPECTION SERVICE(19.06.2012)
Tuesday, June 19, 2012:
FIRA Service Technicians is acknowledged by the furniture industry as a leading provider of independent furniture care and repair on behalf of retailers and manufacturers.
The service successfully keeps approximately 90% of products in the customers' home - but this can only happen if a technician is called out to visit. Emma Delea, FIRA Service Technicians Account Manager, explained, "In some circumstances our clients don't have the opportunity to appoint FIRA as the customer has refused the product at the point of delivery. This is known as a 'door step rejection' and can often result in the product being returned to a logistics company's distribution centre."
FIRA Service Technicians have been operating this "warehouse inspection service" with one of its major clients since 2008.
The technician will inspect the product to try and determine/categorise the problem and provide a very detailed line by line analysis, which together with the inspections conducted in customer's homes, gives a complete overview of customer impact.
Emma added, "Two of the most value-adding aspects of warehouse inspections are determining when it is appropriate to return the product to stock, or perhaps identifying when it could be sold at a reduced price or sent to a jobber. Increasingly, we have found that we can add even more value to the process by carrying out simple repairs. Our work has also helped various logistics companies identify those parts of their operations that need modification, benefiting all." John Oliver, Manager of FST, says "In essence, we are simply ensuring that even when we don't get the chance to inspect products in the consumer's home, we're still able to achieve commercial benefits for our clients in getting the greatest value from returned furniture that otherwise may have been subject to value-destroying disposal routes".Wolf Colony
